I've noticed the film on only one other year-end list! I do think that seeing it at the cinema made a difference since the widescreen images and soundtrack are best experienced that way. I also think Ryan Gosling crafted the movie to be as immersive as possible. The Martian will be fine on DVD since it's a well-made, enjoyable film overall. I'll look forward to hearing what you think of Spotlight, too.Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03004111643204359175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5128479313373199891.post-79378297224237701482015-12-24T06:09:00.498-05:002015-12-24T06:09:00.498-05:00Great to read your choices, as always. I didn’t get a chance to catch SPOTLIGHT yet, as it doesn’t open here until next year and didn’t play at any of the fests I attended, but I’ll catch it as soon as I can. And I will also make sure to see LOST RIVER and THE MARTIAN on DVD, though I guess both were better as experiences in the cinema. Yes, a rare attentive, well-behaved audience certainly makes all the difference… Alex Ramonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13563545792136227647noreply@blogger.com
